Snoepie Dag

So I received a note in my Baby shoes snack/lunch box last Thursday from the teacher.

QUOTE: Vrydae is snoepie-dag, Dan mag Gemma koekies en lekkers in haar kosblikkie kry.  Ander dae is dit gesonde kos en selfs "chips"

I was a bit shocked as I don't pack sweets in her snack box, besides the yoghurt coated sunflower seeds and biscuits.  I don't even pack in chips, I actually only pack in a sandwich, biscuits, raisins and nuts and sometimes a few pieces of dried fruit or fresh fruit.  Now I'm at a lose, which I'm turning around, this mommies on a new mission to find "suitable" snacks for my babies snack box.

Books we've read - Smelly Bill stinks again by Daniel Postgate

My Baby shoes just loves reading.  I've been reading to her since she was a baby (even though she didn't understand).

I've decided to include this on my blog.

Our first book is Smelly Bill stinks again by Daniel Postgate This is a wonderful book and so funny, Baby shoes just loves it! I've read it every night this week!

Mother's day

For mother's day this year I decided to go the "homemade" route and because its nearly winter here in South Africa (winter already in Cape Town) I decided to make rice microwave bean bags.  They turned out fantastic, I even infused them with lavender essence.  My Mother & Mother in law loved them! I'm so pleased with myself.

Will definitely be making these again! I really need one!

Mother's Day

With Mother's Day approaching..... Thought I should just remind you how special you are.  You might not be a mother yet, but you may be a girlfriend, a wife a sister, an aunt, a good mother.............  To those who have recently given birth... Congrats Those who are pregnant.... You are carrying the most precious cargo... stay healthy and enjoy the 9 months. Those who have miscarried... stay strong, everything happens for a reason. Those who have conceived and don't know it yet.... prepare yourself for the best experience of your life. Those who are looking after their siblings.... you are doing a great job. Those who have adopted... we need more angels like you. Those who are single moms... you are our hero's stay strong. Those who have recently lost their mothers, aunts, sisters, wives & girlfriends... I sympathies, they are at a better place but their spirit lives on.  Those who have mothers but do not get along with.... if the relationship is worth fixing, then fix it and don't regret later. The list goes on and on... God has a plan for all of us.  Regardless of what happens or does not happen, everything happens for a reason  Always know that you are special and never settle for less.

Our new Kitty's

So my husband decided to surprise Baby shoes and Mommy by taking us to Animal Anti Cruelty League this weekend to adopt an animal,  now this was a huge debate in our household as my dear husband wanted to get a dog and I desperately wanted a kitty.  After loosing my beloved Siamese to renal failure 3 years ago my life just didn't seem complete! I've always had a cat and so deperately wanted my Baby shoes to experience the love for animals.

After looking at the dogs (big & small) we decided to go look (just a look) at the kitty's and we came across Mielie (the younger of the 2) who desperately needed a home, she look to Baby shoes instantly which impressed my hubby loads! and then I saw Simon II and fell in love! so my dear hubby's heart melted and gave in to us getting 2 kitty's! and I love him dearly for it.

I would recommend the Animal Anti Cruelty League anyday, the animals are well looked after and loved!
